PERFORMANCE FIRST

Fix the problem
before you upgrade.

Use the same game area after every change. Otherwise you cannot tell which setting helped.

01

THE 10-MINUTE CHECK

Your game stutters

  1. Restart the PC and close background apps, recording software and unused overlays.
  2. Test one demanding spot in the game. Write down FPS and when the stutter happens.
  3. Lower graphics settings first. If FPS changes a lot, the GPU may be the limit.
  4. If little changes, check CPU load, RAM use, temperatures and an FPS cap.
02

COMPETITIVE SETTINGS

Stable FPS beats pretty settings

  1. Set your monitor to its actual refresh rate in Windows.
  2. Turn off V-Sync for competitive games, then test for yourself.
  3. Use a sensible FPS cap that your PC can hold in busy moments.
  4. Change one setting at a time and retest in the same place.
03

WHAT EACH PART ACTUALLY DOES

Match the upgrade to the issue

  1. SSD: Faster loading, not a universal FPS fix.
  2. RAM: Helps when memory is full or the game needs more.
  3. GPU: Often helps when lowering resolution/settings increases FPS a lot.
  4. CPU: Often matters in CPU-heavy games or very high-refresh gaming.
